Reaction pawls act like an anti-wind up device. MALCO HONERT / LUDOWICI Unbalanced vibrating motors. These gearboxes are bolted to beams across large screens in processing plants. Often found in Prep Plants these screens are vibrated by the unbalanced motors to refine raw materials. Continual vibration means without the correct torque these bolts will work lose. The webbing on the gearbox and limited over head clearance makes using a Impact Socket and square drive tool not possible. This photo shows the tool in position even with the counter weight in the lower position. The bolts are usually 60mm a/f with a torque over 2,500 Ft Lbs.
